Hints and Tips

Indoor R/C Prop Saver

Dave Kirk, one of the regular attendees at our indoor R/C meetings, provided details of the prop saver he has fitted to his "Und Nu" indoor model. He had broken several props and at least one gearwheel using the standard arrangement of propellor attached directly to the shaft, when the model had a hard arrival.

To prevent damage to props and gearboxes Dave fixed a standard servo output arm to the shaft and attached the propellor to the servo arm using small elastic bands. The bands permit the prop to move on impact.
