Club Meetings

At the club Annual General Meeting held in December 2001, the members voted for the introduction of a series of monthly club meetings during the winter months. This would enable club members to keep in touch during periods of inclement weather, when only the hardiest fliers turned out at the flying site. The support for these meetings was re-confirmed at the 2007 Annual General Meeting.

The venue for all club meetings (unless otherwise notified) will be Shedfield Reading Rooms, Church Road, Shedfield. Meetings are generally held on Wednesday evenings and will start at 8.00 p.m. promptly, and finish at approximately 10.00 p.m.

The subject matter for the meetings will be varied - club talks (on various matters, both model and full-size aviation), slide shows and members' model evenings have all been considered. The club meeting schedule for the winter of 2007 - 2008 has now been finalised. If you have an idea for a subject for a club meeting (or better still, are prepared to give a talk or demonstration), please advise Chris Carr or any other committee member.

Dates for club meetings for 2007 - 2008 are as follows:-

• Wednesday, 20th. February 2008 - John Heffer and Mark Ainsworth-Smith will talk about electric flight

• Wednesday, 19th. March 2008 - Current BMFA R/C Aerobatics champion Richard Christopher will give a presentation on aerobatics

Members' guests and non-members are welcome to attend club meetings.
